Salvador (Sal/Salvy) came to Kansas City in 1990 and found his first job at Kabuki Japanese Restaurant in Crown Center. Despite not speaking English, he worked his way up from washing dishes to rolling sushi within three years, and has not stopped! After they closed at the end of 2012, he worked at a couple other restaurants before becoming a co-owner of Kabuki Sushi in Brookside. And now, as head chef with full creative freedom at Brookside Sushi, Sal is thrilled to present his craft to you.
Chef Sal has dedicated over 35 years to mastering the art of sushi making.
